BANNING, Calif. — San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, which has among the lowest cesarean section (C-section) rates in California, was recognized January 15th, 2020 by the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) for reducing cesarean births for first-time moms with low-risk pregnancies. Fourteen hospitals at the not-for-profit health care network were named to the state’s 2019 Maternity Care Honor Roll, nine of which have been recognized on this honor roll for four consecutive years. Dr. Mark Ghaly, Secretary of CHHS, announced the honor roll recognition behalf of Cal Hospital Compare, a performance reporting initiative informed by representatives from hospitals, purchasers, health plans, and consumer groups. San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital was awarded the 2019 Honor Roll Award for Maternity Care in California because it beat the 23.9 percent or lower for low-risk, first birth deliveries.
At San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, we are extremely proud of our physicians, nurses, hospital board members, and administrators who have made this achievement possible. Thank you for all that you do to continue to provide safe, high-quality and personalized healthcare to our community.
